It's been a pretty uneventful month for us where TV is concerned. With over half of us being sick, we haven't had the attention span, lol
I allowed Nick to pick a movie, so he picked Mom & Dad. If you want to waste an hour and a half of your life, then watch it. Basically, parents start killing their own children. It had a moment or two of ha-ha, but overall, it was the dumbest thing we have ever watched (they didn't even really explain WHY the parents were killing their children... I guess it was a tv signal?)
Nick isn't allowed to pick movies anymore.
We also watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and IT. I was not disappointed by either movie! We loved them!
Gangs of New York is one of my favorites... 1800s New York. Gangs. Drama. It's great!
TBH, I had no interest in watching the new Ghostbusters (not even with Chris Hemsworth in it... sad but true), but it was on, and I was being a potato, so when I found it channel flipping, I stopped on it. It actually wasn't bad. NO WAY was it as good as the original, but I was not disappointed... and there were bonus cameos from most of the original stars.
On the TV series side of life....
Gunpowder was pretty good with Kit Harrington and Liv Tyler, although I'm not sure how that one can have another season. I won't spoil it for you if you're wanting to watch ;) I found it on Hulu.
We've been watching Knightfall. I love period dramas, but this show has failed to impress me. With only a couple of episodes left in this season, we're kind of commited, kwim? So we'll finish the season, but probably won't pick it back up if it returns for another season.
I've also been binging The Walking Dead - from the beginning, because I've not seen a single episode before. I mean I know things because Nick and the kids have been watching religiously from day 1 and they watch Talking Dead afterwards... so I know things, lol. But, it's one of the few shows that the kids will watch with Nick, so I kind of left it as their "thing" on Sunday nights. I work in the same room, but I haven't been paying that much attention. I've been binging for about 2 weeks now and am halfway through Season 4. Nick and the kids have been enjoying my emotional journey because they've been there already LOL! They love rehashing some of the characters and what happened to them :)
That's been it for this month. I'm looking forward to The Alienist, Bellvue and the new season of Victoria. I don't think I'm going to lay into anything new until I get TWD finished, though, LOL
We try not to do family movie nights when the girl has to work, so we only had one on the menu the past couple of weeks - the new Kingsman movie. We loved it! It was fun :) I've also been WAITING for Ash vs the Evil Dead to hit either Hulu or Netflix, and it finally hit Netflix - WOOT! It's so cheesy and funny and it took me a couple of episodes to realize that Xena Warrior Princess plays Ruby LOL
What's new for you on the ole boob toob?!
We haven't quite gotten into the Christmas spirit yet where our tv watching is concerned, although Nick did watch A Charlie Brown Christmas the other day. Here are a few of our latest had-to-watch movies ...
Yes, we still watch a little Disney, even though our kids are 14 + years, LOL! Caroline is actually super interested in an internship at Pixar. Boondock Saints is one of my all-time favorites. I *HAD* to watch The Dark Tower - I'm a huge fan of Stephen King (I know, I know... the movies are n.e.v.e.r. as good as the books!). The Hitman's Bodyguard was hilarious. We love Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson... and to put both in one movie? Awesome.
What movies are on your must-see list? Are there any Christmas movies you're looking forward to? We're looking forward to The Santa Claus, Rudolph, Frosty, Scrooged, The Grinch, A Christmas Story... and of course, Die Hard... because...
Looking for something?
